Moorool

"Reading Solaris to the Great Moorool" was a three part project commissioned for the 2014 Tarrawarra Biennial including a special performance for The Melbourne International Festival.

'Reading Solaris to the Great Moorool' explored alternate histories and ways of communicating, collaborating and knowing place. Working extensively with the local Healesville community, we brought together the seminal SciFi text "Solaris", a philosophical exploration of anthropomorphic limitations manifested in an attempt to communicate with a sentient body of water, with the Kulin Creation Story of the "Great Moorool Lake", a body of water that once covered the Yarra Valley in a series of musical performances, meetings, archives and installations.
