Presented as part of MONA FOMA 2022, artists Veronica Kent and Jon Smeathers take on the Instrument Builders Project mantle in the form of an Atelier producing a collection of ‘personally tuned wearable acoustic pieces’ inspired by 3 existing works by Kent.
Founded in 2012 by curators Joel Stern and Kristi Monfries, and now incorporating co-curatorLisa Campbell-Smith, Instrument Builders Project (IBP) is a transdisciplinary project focused on experimental sound and collaboration, that over its previous five iterations in Indonesia, Australia and Japan has generated an international network of activity, ongoing relationships and new works.
IBP6 is presented by Contemporary Art Tasmania in partnership with Detached Cultural Organisation, MONA FOMA, Liquid Architecture and Volcanic Winds
